I have a couple of layouts to share using two different sketches–the first sketch is from Studio Calico and the second is from Citrus Twist Kits (the original sketch can be found by clicking on the respective hyperlink).
This layout uses the ultra-fun Dear Lizzy Ruffle Paper. It was my first time using it, and I must say I’m in love! It was a little difficult trimming the paper down to 10×10 due to the fragile tissue paper ruffles, but I managed 🙂 Tip: do not try to trim ruffle-side up! I found it cut much better in a paper trimmer when I turned the paper over to its plain cardstock side (duh moment!). I added a white border around the ruffles using gesso and dirtied it up a bit with some Heidi Swapp Gold Lame and Mister Huey’s Opaque White mists. I loved the way this layout turned out. One of my favorites so far this year 🙂
This second layout mostly used elements from Studio Calico’s “Printshop” line, which was featured in Citrus Twist’s January Main Kit. The bright vellum pieces were really fun to work with. I gave the silver washi tape on the left of the page a “ribbony” look by folding it in several areas. The last thing I added was the hand-stitching along the bottom of the journaling and title. The thread is a yellow/orange ombre–it’s one of my favorite things from the kit 🙂
