Today, I have two more sketch layouts to share from the Citrus Twist Kits and Studio Calico blogs. If you’d like to play along, you can follow the links to see the sketches for the week 🙂 The first layout I’m sharing uses the 2/16 Studio Calico Sunday Sketch as inspiration:
It was really fun using a large-sized photo under a smaller photo. The bottom half of the page uses paper from Elle’s Studio. There’s also elements from Studio Calico (veneer hearts), Freckled Fawn (large turquoise gems), and Amy Tangerine (camera chipboard sticker) among others. The pictures are from a large natural cavern near San Antonio, Texas. The mineral formations were absolutely marvelous! I couldn’t believe how large some of the stalactites and stalagmites were. And to think they’re formed from minerals contained in slow-flowing droplets of water…talk about natural wonders!
The second layout is inspired by the 2/16 Citrus Twist Kits Sunday Sketch:
All the elements are from the CTK January Kits except the letter stickers. The patterned paper strip at the left of the photo is composed of various triangles in different colors. I decided to cut apart some of the triangles and layer them on top of the paper to create a dimensional effect. These photos are from the same trip to San Antonio. On our first day there, the fiancé and I were able to see two of the Spanish missions. Mission Concepcion was the second mission we visited, and we specifically went there to see some of the original frescoes painted on the limestone walls. The colors are designs of the frescoes are beautiful. I just wish there was more of it to see! Unfortunately, most of the frescoes are now gone due to natural wear through the years.
Thanks for looking! –Tina.
