I finally broke into the sheet of Maggie Holmes “Flea Market” gold doily vellum I’ve been hoarding for more than a few months….Of course, I couldn’t bear to use the entire sheet on a single layout, so I cut out a few of the doilies and added it around the edge of the page. The doilies help emphasize the decadence of the subject matter–the Angelina Tea Room and Cafe in Paris.
Angelina serves up the thickest and most chocolatey cup of hot chocolate I have ever tasted. It’s definitely a splurge on calories, but very worth it in my opinion! If hot chocolate is not your thing, they’re also known for their Mont Blanc (a chestnut-flavored dessert) although it’s too sweet in my opinion. I’ve tried to recreate their hot chocolate using melted chocolate chips mixed with milk, but it just wasn’t the same.
